Hey guys,

I have a 9-seat 2016 Yukon XL. The middle seat in the front row folds down into a good sized center console with three cupholders. The problem is the driver's side armrest on the lid is super squeaky. If my arm barely touches it, it squeaks. This drives me crazy! Is there any way I can take it apart and fix the squeak?

Post a picture of the console? There is no visible damage or anything to see. If you don't have a helpful response, please just continue your browsing...

See, now that is helpful. Thank you. I didn't expect everyone to be able to help, but someone else may have a similar problem and maybe even a solution. That what I was hoping for.

Silicone spray works wonders on the squeaky plastic pieces in these trucks and it will not hurt the plastic.

Finally got rid of the squeak. The underside of the console lid comes off quite easily with no tools. As shown in the picture, you can just pull it apart (I used the little stubby support legs to get started) and then slide your finger in between and down the edge to pull the clips apart. I then placed a few pieces of adhesive foam strips where the noise seemed to be coming from. Voila!

P.S. I also noticed one of the screws inside was missing, but I haven't noticed any issues from that part of the console lid, and decided to just leave it.

Glad you got it sorted out. Adhesive foam is the duct tape of interior trim panels.

Random question, where is the 110v outlet located on suvs with the front jump seat?
