Anyone have a source for one of these?

GM number 15981092 - factory argent colored grille for the sport package.

My son hit a deer in my Tahoe and cracked the grille up. Really don’t want to fool with an aftermarket one.

Thanks for passing that along. I took a look at the site and it asks you to select a dealer to order from. Long story short, a dealer gave me names of the seven nationwide dealers that show in his system as having them in stock. The first two didn’t have any, haven’t tried the other five yet.

Thanks, I’ll take a look.

I wonder if a chrome one can be successfully painted. Those are still available from GM.

Maybe do a test piece of GM plastic chrome from junk yard find someone to soda blast it. A body shop will tell you it has to be sanded so maybe scotch brite and some time or find a good used chrome one and sand it

When I owned this had a chrome grill and I think I bought an Oem grille that was for color matching option like 99 or 2000 and had it painted

Thanks, you probably bought the same one, then. I’ve seen where some have painted over the chrome plastic with a fair amount of prep and self-etching primer so it seems feasible.

Not sure about GMC, but all aftermarket Chevy grilles partially delete the surround on the bowtie emblem. Perhaps some trademark issue. It’s just goofy enough that it would bug me and my experience with aftermarket parts is pretty abysmal.
