Spark plug question

okay in my 01 burb 5.3 it came with irridium plugs
now im about to replace them since they are clearly worn out
my question is do i have to put irrudium plugs back in there or can i just go with copper or platinums
reason i ask is irridums are lik 7 8 bucks a piece and regular copper and platinum are like half that price

NGK Tr55 or 6.

TR55 is #3951
TR6 is #4177


I use TR6, they Stop all potential for detonation. I also have a Very aggressive timing table in my tune.
These plugs are dirt cheap, I change them every three oil changes, If I remember. Its not needed, but It gives me fresh plugs.

okay i just pulled out the right banks plugs and the gap is freakin huge
like .80
i put some NGK plats and i was told they had to be gapped at .40
and it used to knock for like a minute when i first started it up cold it dont do that anymore
it also idles a bit smoother when its still in open loop

the ones i pulled out are TR5A
but god dam i wonder if they were the original plugs

i gotta go back to autozone in a bit and tell that smart ass kid hes full of shit
he said if i dont put irridium plugs in there itll run like complete ass
it runs better then it did before

now i just gotta figure out this oil pressure thing
still when i start it up cold whne its idling it slowly loses oil pressure and it drops to zero
but when its warmed up oil pressure it holds about 30 psi at idle and like 40 to 50 psi at 2000rpm

ive read that i either need to change the o ring on the oil pump intake

or i need to change the intake manifold gasket becuase the factory GM ones are terrible

means one of two things, Previous owner installed them or some oil change place did when PO asked for a plug swap. Prob paid for iridium's and got those instead.

and this is why used part of hard earned GI Bill money and went to UTI i never got the dream career they tell everyone theyll get but at least im no longer at the mercy of some fly by night repair shop

that oring is a very common problem.
yes the intake gaskets are foam. they rott and leak.

felpro gaskets fix that with a rubber seal.
While your doing intake gaskets, swap your knock sensors and harness.

cool man thanks heads up on that
so i should prolly kill 3 birds with one shoe
take off the oil pan change that gasket and the o ring and pull of the intake man change the gasket and the knock sensors
any thing else i mite replace while i got that intake manifold off

question i also wanna change out my lifters now in school i had to rebuild a 350 but it was a flat tappet cam and i know with those if you change out hte lifters you gotta change out the cam
does the same apply with roller cam i kinda figured it didnt but i wasnt sure

No need to change cam with these roller lifters.
Btw, you have to yank the heads to pull the lifters.

Most of if not all of the bolts used on LS Engines are torque to yeild, thos means they are use once only.
You can get by with re using intake bolts and cover bolts, but anything else.

Harmonic balancer bolt, heads, etc must be replaced.

While intake is off, clean it out. Use berrymans B-12 aerosol. Its the best and will do it very quickly.
Be sire to seal the knock sensor harness caps with red RTV silicone.

AC Delco 41-962 Double Platinum. See AC/Delco Service Bulletin 13D-070. Amazon probably has the best price and there is an AC Delco rebate going on right now too.

Yep those are copper NGKs. Nothing wrong with them but need to be serviced a little more often then the higher dollar plugs. For my Yukon I went back with AC Delco Platinums.
