My original 2008 steel wheel is severely corroded and needing replacement. It's 17"x 7 1/2" 16 hole wheel.
I have some across a remanufactured OEM wheel of the matching the original that is powder coated. Is that finish an issue?

I also found a 2023 and newer oem take off Silverado steel wheel, 17" x 8" which is a bit less expensive but the off set is about 1/4" outward (24mm vs 31mm offset) compared to the original 7 1/2" wheel and the inner and outer edges are also 1/4" out and in by comparison to the 7 1/2" wheel. The Silverado wheel is assumed to be factory finish.

The purpose of the replacement is strictly as a spare and will likely live underneath up on the hoist. The tire will be the original spare size as 265/70R17 which the factory intended to work with the Z71 18" wheels with 265/65R18 tires.

Any thoughts on the finishes and the substitution of the newer slightly different wheel?

This will work perfectly fine as a spare wheel. If it's on the front, there will be a slight pull in hard braking or when in 4wd due to the different scrub radius between sides.

Look at the offset of your 18" wheels -- bet it's the same as the 17" Silverado wheel.

The difference in offset between the OE wheels and the Silverado wheel compensates -- splits the difference -- for the slightly wider wheel width. It centers the tire, much like your 18" ones do.
