My son has an 86 el camino. We had a friend do an install of two 12's an amp and some mids and tweeters. The mids were replaced but they sound like shit. The sound like there is no power to them and really echoey or tinny. Even if he didn't run them off the amp, modern speakers just running off the 40 watts per channel from the head unit should sound a lot better then this. I tried messing with the mid and treble levels but nothing fixes it. Subs sound fine.
