I found a vendor on Amazon that you just provide them your VIN number mileage make and model and they send you a complete rebuilt unit that matches your mileage and they even provide you with a label to send the old one back.
Super easy.

Problem solved. I resoldered every joint my pointy soldering iron tip could reach, replaced the bulbs, replaced the stepper motors. Plugged it in and everything works and is accurate. Even worked first second after start up when the car had been sitting all day in nearly 100 degree heat, which was the original issue. Not sure what part solved it, but it is now fixed. Thanks for all the help.
