So this is what it's like to have a 6.2?

Can someone verify if this is the real 6.2 experience?
Yes, but that truck has been modified some. I tell you, every time I drive the 6.2 Sierra it puts a smile on my face!

I have the 6.2L (420hp) in my 2021 Yukon Denali which is a significantly larger vehicle than my previous 2004 SRX V8 (325hp) - and it's pleasantly responsive. Maybe not quite as sporty (tight cornering) as the SRX but feels like it's in the ballpark acceleration wise - e.g. fun to drive for sure!

And towing 5,000lb is night/day - SRX strained but Yukon just plows ahead as if it's nothing. :)

I wouldn't do that with a G80! But yes, the acceleration is really good, even stock, but I suspect that truck has been modified, as James says. 0-60 is about 6.4. My father-in-law drives a Porsche and he thinks the 6.2L in the Denali's we have is awesome. Grins ear-to-ear every time I punch it and leave everyone else in the dust. Especially the 2012 with the bigger cam. I can't vouch for the wheelspin because the Denali SUV's drive all 4 at the same time. Need to get feedback from someone with a 2WD Denali or Escalade.

Any upgrades to a 6.2 definitely mean upgrades to the brakes and suspension are in order. It’s at the absolute limits of its class.

I wonder what GM did to the Esky V to prep it for 682hp compared to a standard truck?

And I can tell you that I have 2 rigs right now with 6.2’s. For some reason Big Mama (my 07 Denali) is much funner to drive like that than my 2014 Sierra CC 6.2. Maybe it’s AFM?

No, I got it in January but haven’t driven it a lot. How did you disable yours?

Thankfully mine is an 03, so no AFM for me. Lots of guys use the device that plugs into the OBD port, which disables it. Other guys will just have it tuned out and leave the AFM components in the motor, while some guys take all the AFM components out AND have it turned off with a tune. Take your pick.

2017 Denali here. What’s not to like about 420 HP, 460# torque and 21 mpg on road trips? I tow a lot with mine (almost 100 miles towing the boat yesterday) and the extra power is really appreciated on on-ramps.

I wouldn’t say no to beefier brakes though.
