Hard to tell at this point ... but both the new Rams and F-150s have a HID option, so I'm guessing GM will do likewise.

Again hard to tell for sure exactly what that is ... that truck is moving during the day so it could easily be a drl as the tails aren't lit at the same time. Plus, assuming that those headlamps have a covered lower section, that's where HIDs would presumably be because, as in the current Escalade, you'd design them to be as low to the ground as possible. Plus we don't know if those headlamps are the base and there is an HID option or if these are the only ones that will be available.

Too many variables to make a definitive call imo.

Went to the Texas state fair and all the new high end rams and fords have projectors if the new gm vehicles don't they will be very far behind the crowd.

And a brand new spy shot of the 14 Silverado with a lot less camo:

Btw, interestingly enough this isn't really a spy shot per se ... GM actually released this pic themselves. http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/10/gm-drops-new-photo-of-2014-chevrolet.html

Did I call the squared arches of the fenders, or what? Fenders look very similar to the Terrain styling. The hood on that truck looks very similar to the current style already used on the NNBS. Doors and mirrors look to be NNBS too. Probably why they kept the protective cover on the front end. New grill and headlights probably aren't matching up with older panels. Maybe the sheet metal for doors and hood are incomplete. Truck box and tail lights look new though. Kinda got that Ford edginess to it with the Toyota protrusion in the tail light styling.

Over all impression, looks like a mild redesign with a new engine coming. I wonder if there will be a completely new truck for 2016, or if this is it.

Doors are so different mirrors too

”GM released the cropped image of the new truck's headlamp and front grille assembly today to inform us that it will reveal the next Silverado during a special event in the Detroit area on December 13, 2012.

The unveiling will take place in advance of the truck's public premiere at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in mid-January, where GM will also debut the next Corvette C7.

base model will probably be a halogen projector, and LTZ, Denali will be an upgraded projector with HIDs. There's still a big difference between the 2 projectors, but this is something common with a lot of new vehicles.

I imagine that in like many vehicles, lighting upgrades come as options or as part of different trim levels. As posted earlier GM released a pic of the Silverado projectors ... compared to the reflectors in the MT pics I guess they will be an option.

What is more worrisome is that those have the characteristics/color of halogen projectors and not HID. I'm hoping GM doesn't drop the ball on this one ... from what I can see on their respective sites, the new Ram trucks have halogen projectors as an option and the F150s hid, or at least I know the Raptor comes with hid projectors.

We shall see how all this translates to the SUVs ... i know that manufacturers are hesitant to put hid projectors on pickups because of the high mounting points, hopefully GM will come through on their SUVs.

I bet the Tahoe, Yukon, and Denali models will have a HID projector option somewhere in their trim levels. Maybe halogen HID could just be what is used on the test cars. Just like the tail lights used on the 2014 Escalade, which I am almost positive will not be the production run rear lights.
On thing is for sure, the SUVs will get rear windows that can roll all the way down as shown by the spy photo pics.
