Shorter Antenna

Looking to add a shorter antenna since mine hits the bottom of the garage door when I pull in. I've seen the bullet antenna, but how is the reception with it or just a shorter one in general? I've heard that you will lose some of the reception range.

I dont know how small the bullet antenna is. If it is the little 6" one, then you will def lose good reception. I recomment a 10-12" minimum. With that you will lose a couple of stations that already have a weak signal...usually the ones that are not local. It isnt horrible. I have one on mine and I still get the ones I like, I just lose them when I go in the parking garage now. Not a big deal to me tho, I am usually on pandora or a cd.

If you dont mind the look of a stock antenna and like the radio enough to want the best reception, you can cut the stock one down and reinstall the ball on the end. I did this on my ford. Also rubbed the black down with acentone adn it will remove the black leaving it a stainless color. Was free...and gave me something to do one evening.

Lastly, the one I have on mine is a $10 12" one from autozone. Looks decent and is not too expensive.

I had a 3" billet with no issues, till some punk stole it now I have a 6" with a dab of JB weld. And still no issues. And I live in a rural area north of the suburbs that a far north of town and I work in town and no difference that is decivable through the speakers to me.
