New here, just curious i just got an 03 tahoe with 5.3 V8 with 110K miles. Ride is a bit stiff it has 20 inch rims on it and would really like a softer ride. Any ideas on affordable shocks that might give me that factory softness that I'm looking for?

Can try some Monroe shocks, they ride soft.
Could also try Bilstein HD, don't know how soft it would be.
Thiss question should be rated "A Tahoe Yukon Forum two-a-day question).

I might have a slightly used set of Bilsteins coming up for sale. I'm changing mine out tomorrow since I want something that rides a little stiffer with my drop and sway bars. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Hopefully it's not airride. What a PITA system that is to fix or even down-grade to normal shocks.

I like Bilstein HD's, they ride plush but the tahoe feels more planted and less bouncy on uneven surfaces. When I hit a pothole going around a curve, my tahoe doesn't want to jump into the lane next to me anymore. This comparison is over the stock Tenneco red Z71 shocks with 85k on them.

Did you replace the Bilstien HD's all around or just on front or backs?
