Shifter Play

I have a lot of play in my shifter, possibly a bushing on the linkage on the transmission or is their one inside the column that's more likely to go out?
I see quite a bit on people replacing the bushing to the transmission on the older ones so hopefully its the same on the 07?

Now I've cut corners before but c'mon, whoever thought that using a bread wrapper tie to hold the shift cable on seriously needs to re think their mechanic skills.

If it was bailing wire I might understand but a bread tie?
