So I have a 13 sierra for parts and I pulled the rotors and calipers the other day planning on rebuilding the 13 calipers and throwing them on the 08 hoe when I do new pads and rotors later this winter. What I found was these 13 rotors are drilled and slotted, the hoe is not. I would like to swap them over but they look like this (see image) should I just buy new rotors or sacrifice a cheap set of pads to clean them up? Any thoughts?

Drilled and slotted rotors aren’t a big enough gain on anything for me to want to put them on my vehicles. I definitely wouldn’t bother putting those on. If you want drilled a slotted rotors, just buy new ones and be done with it. The amount of money you might save using those isn’t worth the time to install pads twice, in my opinion.

Calipers aren't bad, still have factory paint on them. New seals and pistons and they'll be better then remaned.

Buy new, unless you really like the work of wire brushing the entire old assemblies.

I could see the calipers cleaning up fairly easy. A wire brush, file, and some lube will go a long way. I wouldn't EVEN BOTHER with the rotors. For the cost of new ones, save yourself the headache. As stated above, why do it twice........because that's what will happen.
