Russell stainless brake line kit?

Has anyone given this kit a try? If so where did you end up purchasing it? If not have you used another brand? I have heard that stainless lines do wonders for our trucks.

I hove their wheel well to caliper kit and I am very happy with it. Easy to install also.

I got mine years ago I believe from stylintrucks.com I hope that helps I used new Bear drilled and slotted plus one rotors and Hawk HPS pads with NNBS calipers.

I did the Russell lines because it has 5 lines which includes the most important longest line from the frame to axle. Also did GMT900 front brakes and flushed fluid. I say its well worth it!

What all was involved the the front brake swap?

Buy some 07+ front calipers with brackets, new pads, and rotors. Mine cost me around $60 for the calipers and $75 for Hawk HPS and $135 for Powerslot rotors. Also needed a can on black caliper paint since the new ones were bare metal. Work great and the lines really help with the hydrobooster swap. The 6k lb tank stops quick and surprises people when they drive it.

The most difference was the hydrobooster but the lines were just as significant, so booster rating 10, lines rating 8, gmt900 brakes 6 on a 1-10 scale. The purporting valve in the braking system applies more pressure to the rear brakes then the front so the lines made a considerable difference when installed compared to the front brakes. Under daily braking the gmt900 front isn't needed but when towing or late braking/aggressive driving it makes a good bit of difference in stopping distance.

So the larger front brakes are probably over kill? Maybe I will just get a nice set of pads and rotors along with the stainless lines.

Not overkill but worth the upgrade for $60 calipers for 1" bigger rotors! Pads and rotors cost the same for GMT800 or GMT900 within a few dollars, so when you have to replace the fronts its worth doing the upgrade.

Where did you find the brackets?

The caliper brackets? If that is what you meant then I ordered the calipers with brackets, price was the same with brackets.

Ok, I looked autozone had the brackets. About $20 each. Where did you get yours with the calipers?

look at roackauto for a 2007 tahoe or truck, kinda search around for year model and you will find a good deal

My lines came today, really impressed with the quality. I got mine from Race Mart, inc. They had the best price.
