My 02 Tahoe can run E85. I live in MN and drove to St Louis yesterday, did a little test. Filled up with E85 and got on the freeway (never went above 5 over the speed limit) made it 287 miles, fuel light wasn't on but it was on E. Got a little over 14mpg. This was all highway, no small towns, one stop for food.

Filled up with 87 and truck is at 320, that's driving through small towns, getting to hotel, drove to STL airport, back to hotel, through downtown to site see and I still have a 1/8 tank left.

E85 = cheaper, less mileage, more power (noticeable difference).

I really only run E85 while I am at home. it's about $10 or so less to fill up, depending on how full my tank is. I get less mileage but the way the motor feels with it is worth it.

Just my experience.

Yeah I know its harsh on my fuel system.. So probably new fuel rails, lines and fuel pump? My truck is not FlexFuel. Something about putting ethanol in my truck makes me feel better about driving it, though. haha. Like I said, I ran it for a little while on straight ethanol and honestly, my mileage difference wasn't too far off from running it with Premium.

Wow you two have some very special trucks. Most people notice a dramatic loss in mpg's and power.

50+ miles a tank isn't dramatic? My mileage sucks with E85. That's why I did the comparison to 87.

And I can tell a night and day difference when I switch between the two. E85 is awesome compared to gas.

E85 equipped trucks have bigger fuel injectors. Also all harden fuel lines are coated with none rusting material. Main difference is the injectors.
