rse doesn't work with aftermarket stereo

Hello everybody and greetings from Finland.

I have 2009 tahoe with bose system. I didn't like the original radio so replaced it. I bought Pioneer sph da120 and following harness from ebay.

It said that it will retains all the factory options i have.

First I installed harness wrong because i thought that amplifier i have is digital and my rear speakers didn't work. After researching this forum i find out that the amp is analog. I changed the wires and all my speakers and wheel controls works great.

I can't get my rse work. All the connection are double checked and they should be good. Rear monitor lights up right away when radio is turned on and it stays grey but i can't see video picture out from it. Then there is sign that no xm signal. The aftermarket radio didn't have xm. And xm doesn't work here in finland anyway.

If someone could help me would be super. Thanks.

He said nothing about the chimes. Goto page 19 on your manual and turn on the rear output of the radio

I have done installation by myself. I would have used professionals but here there are not so many who know about chevrolets. My chimes, back camera sub, bose, steering wheel controls works great. Only problem seems to be RSE. With original HU I had to insert DVD in to get rear monitor light up. Since this new unit doesn't have dvd player is there a wire somewhere needs to be connected or what? I have done so much work already and would't want to put old one back, but i am just about ready to give up with this.

Yes. This is the same cable what came with axxess bx-gm5 harness. Here is picture of it.

Yes.

I have done that and selected mirror for rear. Still can't see video. Video shows out of the pioneer good but rear monitor stays grey all the time. I even hooked up original head unit back on and with it all works just fine.

Possibly a problem with the aftermarket cabling for the RSE. Do you have a home DVD or camera or anything you can plug into those RCAs for testing?

Hello again.
I hooked up my dvd player on the back seat av inputs and got video seeing both displays. Huge success! Thank You. I can't still get video for back seat out from pioneer's hdmi.

I could try that, but i think rear display should work with the pioneer's original hdmi connection. would be nice to show kids netflix on road trip. And control it from front seat. At least It works now with rear AV inputs.

HDMI will not directly plug into RCA and has to use a converter cable or box to convert the digital HDMI signal to the analog RCA signal. Does the pioneer not have RCA outputs?

So you are using the RCA video outs to the adapter cable for your stereo? when playing video from the radio you have a picture on the radio but not on the rear screen. Also when using the rear inputs on the console you have picture on both?

Yes. Just like that. I was wondering if xm signal is causing the problem because the new hu doesn't have xm and on the back seat where all buttons are there is a little screen and it says all the time that no xm signal. Is it possible bypass the xm from vehicle?
