I thought people pry the original wires off the headliner, break them free from the glue and leave them all hooked up, then reglue them as the headliner goes back in or not even reglue them but I’ve never done one. @Tonyrodz didn’t you do your headliner?
I can’t imagine that would save any time on a headliner replacement. Waiting for glue to set to be able to put the headliner in would add tons of time. Plus the stuff the factory used to insulate all the wiring is gross nasty stuff. It’s gooey and sticky…. Whenever it gets pulled from where it’s supposed to be it immediately gets icky. So I’d imagine pulling it off of one headliner would be a very nasty messy job…..

So today was successful! Dropped down off the mountain, to run some errands. Sprouts is down there. Costco as well. But before those stops I hit the San Bernardino pick and pull junkyard. Hadn’t checked inventory online so I had no idea what I was gonna find. But needed a replacement done light for the one I cracked the mounting tabs on. And the forward passenger door sill plate was cracked and I broke a tab in it putting back into place at the end of the headliner swap. Found both pieces I needed out a 2005 SWB Denali that had the same interior colors as mine. Worked out well. The broken bits:

Also grabbed the plastic trim piece that goes across the headliner where it meets the tailgate in the rear. Mine was a little scratched but intact. Forgot a pic of the replacement installed. But I’m happy with it.

So I happened to stumble across a 2007 LS Tahoe in the yard. They’re getting newer years more and more now. Kinda cool. Pulled the i star center mirror just for ***** and giggles to see if it would work in my truck. Surprised but it works! Here’s mine… perfectly fine and working.

drove off the mountain yesterday morning, picked my sister up from her in laws place in riverside, and drove her to Palm Springs. My bro in law finished his final shifts at corona fire this week and they had an exit ceremony for him so she was here for that. She didn’t have a ride to the airport for her flight back to Tennessee so she asked if I’d drive her. We got some genuine sibling time just her and me, and it was really sweet. I miss her dearly since the move. We had lunch and coffee in Palm Springs before I dropped her to the airport. It was wonderful. Nali ran like a tank as it always does! Of course there was good food involved! Lol

Little rain yesterday and a dusting of snow over night. Worked on the resort til 3pm at which I got home and it was 46 degrees! Was warm enough to run the pressure washer and the soap cannon to give the Nali a bath! Life is better with a clean truck!

So guess who was at bear mountain this weekend putting his kids through ski lessons?! So very friendly and relaxed and he interacted with all the ski and ride school staff there yesterday and today. Really fun two days and great way to go out with a bang as this is closing weekend for bear mountain! As Jeff Goldblum would say… “MUST GO FASTER MUST GO FASTER!!” :Big Laugh:
