2021 Yukon Denali with OEM automatic running boards. I'm interested in removing them from time to time to free up some payload when towing close to capacity. Bolts to the frame = easy. This one wire harness, however, won't budge for me on either side. I assume I'm missing something simple. Any suggestions? I found and disengaged the red sliding retainer clip, but still can't get any movement. TIA.

Usually the red slider type clip is there to prevent a tab from being depressed...so, slide the red clip to it's open position, then press the tab on the plug (likely on the top), and that should unclip it. You probably want to find the appropriate sized weather cap to put on that harness after you remove it, so the wires don't corrode if it gets wet when not connected.
