Possibly but If the rest of the remote buttons work, it's likely not the fob. You sure you're doing it correctly- push the lock button once then hold the start button?

I thought it was lock button twice then hold start? Any who my remote start didnt work when I purchased mine because of the check engine light being on. So if you have a check engine light get that fixed pronto then it should work fine.

Can confirm on 07 yukon it's lock button twice and then hold start. In the DIC it may be disabled or as stated before a CEL will not let you remote start either. If you want to test and see if it's the remote you can get an aftermarket replacement remote for like $20 on remotesremotes.com. I had to order some from there because my truck didn't have any and GM wants like $130/each.

You need to push the lock button twice and then hold the start button.

If it has the option in the DIC then his truck should have remote start. The very few trucks that didn't have remote start don't have the option in DIC for remote start.

It has always been lock one and remote start for a 5 count. Gm has used this same procedure for all there vehicles regardless of years. When you attempt to remote start do the lights flash while holding the start button?
