Makes sense. Particularly @ the age our vehicles are now they are probably due for replacement anyways. The reflectors or the projectors do wear out. My OEM set on my nali were bad even with HIR bulbs

I wet sanded mine from 400-800-1000-1500-2000-2500 and then clear coated them with a clear coat made for plastic

What is the name/brand of the sealer you used? Is it something that has to be reapplied frequently or just once?

i used rust oleum american accents ultra cover 2x gloss clear. i have buffed and waxed headlights and i would have had to rebuff and wax them by now. this is the only way i will do head lights now.
this is the day i painted them about 6 months ago

Thanks, I may give that a try on my daughter 03 Highlander. The assemblies are only $80 ( w/bulbs ), but you have to remove the bumper to remove the assemblies
