Rearview Mirror Dark

I'm a new owner of an '05 Yukon Denali. The rearview mirror (w/OnStar) seems REALLY dark. The temp and compass light up I assume normally. Is this normal?

It should look normal.

Maybe the auto chromatic dimming is stuck/broken. Not sure how you'd test /fix that besides another mirror though... Maybe try shining a bright light right at it and see if it changes... Grasping at straws, here.

Anything hanging from the rear view mirror or obstructing the sensor in front? That would definitely do it.

Nothing hanging. I can see items behind me in the mirror-it's just really dark! Thanks for all your ideas.

My 2009 has a button to turn it off, on the mirror. No button if backup cam displays on mirror.
