What oil are you guys putting in your rearends when you service them ? Mine has 220,000 mi on it and its never been serviced.

+1 on the royal purple. It's really good stuff. But it's not cheap either.

220K with OE oil?? Yeah that's gonna smell great.

I used the std oil from Walmart. I'm a cheap Jew ...

Remeber you get what you pay for go a good gear oil mobil one is cheaper but
still good then you will need the additive for the limited slip. I paid 18 bucks a bottle for the royal I run you need three bottles will only take 2.5 to fill so you will have some for leaks down the road.

Thank you, I was considering Lucas product line as no one around here sells royal purple. My truck is just the regular limited slip. Is the g80 the standard unit?

bowtiefreak "if you have a g80 and you fear it is going....regular gear oil without the LSD additive"

Please fill me in here? Why not limited slip gear oil?

I am going to say just reg. gear oil. no need to spend that much money on a never before serviced rearend.

had royal purple in mine after the regear, it has napa's cheap oil/additive in it right now till i get it to the shop for them to fix the locker they ****** up. then its back to the purple.

they decided to not put the retainer on the coil, so it free spun around in the housing tearing the wires all to shit. huh who would have thought an e-locker wouldn't work without the coil being hooked up. their work on the drivetrain has been a JOKE!

thank you 4 wheel parts indianapolis.

hopefully this is the last time it ever goes into the shop other than to exchange the rims. indiana eats them about every six months... haha
