Rear Wiper Delete

Here's how I went about the rear wiper delete on my truck.

First off you need to pull the trim panels on the hatch and remove the old wiper this is a great video for showing you how to do all that.

Picked up these plugs off EBay. https://m.ebay.com/itm/50-Piece-She...quot-2-quot-/122397885057?txnId=1852897729002

Picked up this black silicone sealant off Amazon, the reason I went with this, is its a lot easier to apply with a caulking gun imo. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000HBGJ8Y?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd

Pick out the correct plugs, put a decent amount of sealant on each one, pop them in and clean up any residue and let them sit for a bit then seal up the back side and your good to go.

Did you have any trouble getting the 1 1/4 plug to fit the wiper hole? I can not get mine to go in to save my life lol

I took an 1 1/2 plug and trimmed the snap in ring part off the back and just siliconed it on, it's like a 1 1/4 hole but like you said it won't pop in, poured the other day none of mine leaked

I ended up going that route too. I went to Lowe’s and tried to find an 1 1/8 hole plug to see if that would fit any better but they didn’t cary anything over 1”. That 1 1/2 plug with the lock part trimmed off held better than I thought it would so I think it’s going to work out lol. Thanks!

No problem, and if you want put one on the inside smooth side facing that one and silicone I up good and you'll be all set

Looks much cleaner without that rear wiper! Man I'd like to remove mine. But being my truck is white those plugs would stand out real bad. I don't think they'd take to paint too well. Maybe sometime down the road I'll have the extra $$ to get the holes filled in and gate painted.

If you pick up some of these and paint them it would work out pretty good, Lowe's had a nice assortment of them

Same plugs I used and even pushed a nylon washer over those plastic threads when I siliconed it on to make a tighter fit. This is a winner, cheap mod until you decide to spend the money to do it. You've got an easy color to match. Just do it, you won't regret the look if you never use the wiper.

Summit white is pretty easy to match stuff too. I just deleted my wiper as well and I took all of maybe 20 minutes to rattle can the plastic plugs I used with the can of silver birch metallic paint that I had leftover from another project. And it looks totally fine.
