Rear Lift is #^(&ed

I hope this is the right place for this. my rear lift gate is not opening, I cant feel the distinct button push and it wont pop. Any ideas on how to access the problem and fix it or is this a shop fix (I hope not). I checked the 15 amp fuse and thats good. I cant check the connections between the body and door but everything else like the wiper and glass operate. I guess a lever worked too well so GM had to fix it lol. Thanks everyone.
