quick question on intake

So im going to be purchasing the spectre 9900 within then end of the week and was wondering what maintenence needs to be done to this ? and at what intervals do i have to get a new filter or do i wash it ? does it need to be oiled or something ? plz help!!

lol well im getting both grille inserts and intake i said eff it ! but i dont know if i should save that money or not haha having a tough decision

LOL... save money, sounds like you bought the stuff already.. lol... Just keep them, and then save. Thats what i do. Buy something, then save for awhile...until i get a good deal, like you got on the inserts.

it really depends on the conditions u drive in man... like if its dusty u will have to clean it more often... now i cant remember if the spectres are dry elements or not.... everytime u check ur oil just take a glance at it and when u change ur oil take the filter off and hold it in the light and look thru it.. if u see daylight ur goos.. but i would blow it out every oil change... its a good habit to have.... if u love ur truck ur truck will love u..

I just put the Spectre cold air kit on my 2001 Tahoe 5.3L. It was very simple and only took about 45 mins. My exhaust sounds a little different?? Weird.. and i can hear the filter sucking when you floor it. Im waiting for next weekend to due a MPG check. LAst week on a 500 mile trip i got 16.3 MPG without the cold air kit.
