puttin 5 speed in 97 yukon need help

Im replacing my 4L60E with a 5 speed, what transmission should I get? Also, what do I need to do the conversion. Thanks

go to a junkyard
find a silverado/sierra with a 5 speed

transmission and shifter
transfercase (if 4x4) with the shifter
ECM for a 350/5speed truck
brake pedal assembly
clutch pedal assembly
clutch master and lines
flywheel and starter


I don't know the exact list, but thats the main gist of it.

What years can the tranny be pulled from?
Why change the ECM and starter?
Can the same clutch disc be used?

How about drive shaft?

You're going to want a nv4500. Way beefier than the 3500

no, the NV4500 is a bad girl, 5 speed tranny that I am searching for. (got one but it's a 2wd) So the search continues
