Previous History shows Upper Intake Manifold Replaced. Why?

Looking back through the history reported to CarfFax, I see an entry in 2013 at 131,000 showing Upper Intake Manifold Replaced.

Why might that have been and is there anything I should be watching for?


Same entry shows Distributor Rotor replaced if that matters.

It is made of nylon/?????, I think. If was done at a dealer, you did not say and did not give any other engine/make/model info, it may be almost anything.

Not a common item to fail, but when humans are involved with plastic there's no telling what could have happened.
Lower intake gaskets are the common failure. Possibly the upper intake got broken somewhere along with another repair. Does it appear to have been replaced?

I wouldn't be able to tell.

Next time I take it to a shop for something, I may have them take a look.
