I am going to be plasti-dipping my stock Z71 wheels this weekend. I am debating whether or not to take the wheels off. What do you guys think?

No need to take them off. Just cover your rotor and spray away. It will peel off your tires really easy.

Either way works brother. I've done them both ways, just be sure to tape (and plastic/paper) up around it so you dont overspray. I stuffed news paper in the wheel wheels to cover the brake calipers etc.

If you pull them off you can insert index cards in-between the tire & wheel (insert them vertically and overlapping) all the way around and commence spraying. (after cleaning and hitting with some alcohol to get all the crud off the wheels of course).

I've plastidipped two sets of wheels without masking, covering, etc. I just cleaned them off real well and sprayed them. Rotors will burn any overspray off the first time you hit the brakes. Any overspray on the tires will peel off, or if you're lazy, just drive and it'll come off on its own.

Why not just take them off? It only takes a few minutes.

Take them off. If you don't complete the coating around the back and you leave a lip instead, it can start to peel over time.
