I have the phaser on correctly with the cam pin into the back of the phaser. When I tighten the phaser bolt down, it went to 48 ft lb very easy. It actually didn’t even turn an 1/8 of a rotation before the wrench gave way at 48 lb. and that was after tightening it down without the crank holder tool. So I feel like there isn’t much stretch in the machined bolt. So now I have the crank holder tool in and i torque it to 48 lb. Then start the 90° process. I get to 45° and it gets tough. I get another 30° out of it, but then it is very hard. So now I’m at 75°. I know I messed up and should have ensured I did the 90° all in one sweep. Knowing that sometimes when you are that tight on a bolt and lose the momentum, then next time you start up the bolt can snap.
Should you run with it at 75°
Should I back it out and do it again? Will that void the bolt and need to buy another? It’s been in for an hour or so
