Passenger Seat Frame Removal & Replacement

Aloha All! I would like to get your insights, opinions and knowledge on removing & replacing the passenger seat frame on a 2012 GMC Yukon SLE 5.3L. The up/down motor is shot and looking at all the YouTube videos it just seems logical, and easier, to just replace the whole kit & kaboodle. The problem is there really isn't any good videos or instructions on how to remove and replace the seat frame. If anyone has any ideas I'm open to your information and knowledge.

I went on the GMC Parts websites and they all quote around $900 with shipping to Hawaii included. I tried Rock Auto but couldn't find my seat, or any seat, listed. Same with Charm and other sites. I'm guessing that this is one of the "only available from the Manufacturer (OEM)" instances. I shopped around here on O'ahu and the lowest was $2600 for the removal & install. They all said that the cheapest they could get the seat frame was $1600. And they won't install it if I provide the new seat frame. Go figure!

So, I'm going to try and accomplish this task, after I thoroughly investigate all the possibilities and gather all the info I can, in the parking space in front of my apartment. You ought to be able to get the right part number from GMPartsGiant. The instructions for R&R can be found via subscription at AllDataDIY.

Did mine three years ago. Center console has to come out to get at the inner bolts/nuts if memory serves. Not a hard job, just heavy. Once out, we rebuilt them on the coffee table.

My trucks are SLTs with AG1 and AG2 power seats. 22804419 and 20779109

I've never done it, just be careful of the metal seat pans, they're really sharp.

Agreed! Most of the parts I would need are discontinued, but they still post the part numbers...which can be very helpful. Mahalo for all your helpful insights and info.

I've heard about canceled orders, mis-shipments, issues getting refunds or prices changing.

Thanks! Shea Chevrolet also seems to have it, and at a slightly better price. Unless I'm mistaken, I think I have heard that people were satisfied with them.

Have ordered a lot through GMPartsGiant. Have had cancelled orders, incorrect or missing items and slow (to me) shipping. They always corrected any errors, just move a little slower than we're used to. I appreciate their website and that of GMPartsDirect and others like them and try to send a little business their way when it suits me.

My experience with GMPartsGiant.com was really bad, when I was awaiting receipt of a part that was never shipped, and took over 3 months to get a refund.

I've had good luck with GMPartsDirect.com and RockAuto.com.
