Hello, does anyone know how to get a smooth paint finish on the dash board grab bar of the 03 Tahoe without going to a fiberglass job? I have tried many coats of primer and even sandable primer.

Are you doing a real find sand after the primer and after the color, then spraying a clear coat? Also make sure you clean and sand the piece real good

Well the grab bar is sort of rubbery, not hard plastic like the rest of the interior trim. The surface has a grainy texture like all the other pieces. I had no problem with the hard pieces in that I just cleaned well, then sanded with a low grit paper, cleaned, medium grit, cleaned, fine grit. They came out smooth as glass. Now this grab bar, since its not of the HARD plastic nature so I didn't feel it would be a good idea to try to sand it first. I really stuck here but I believing I'm going to have to find a shop to do it for me. Anyone know of a good shop that can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate some help.
