Hi everyone, my parking brake pedal goes to the floor and won't hold the car very well on a hill. I don't think the 2000 Yukon Denali has the ratcheting self-adjusting pedal, as I don't see any sign of that. It looks like it has a separate little spring mechanism that pulls it back when you pull the pedal release.

Do you think I need to replace the cables because they have stretched?

I tried opening the self-adjusters until the rear shoes scrap when I put the drum on.

I've replaced the passenger side cable because I snapped it trying to fix this problem.

I adjusted the equalizer so the passenger side seems to be tight?

Maybe I'm not doing something right. Does anyone have a procedure on how to tighten the pedal?

Thanks for your help!

...Tim
