I have seen these trucks go 180,000 miles on original plugs & wires. Is it common, or did dealer stealer ?
Plus the fuel injector cleaner BS, and reprogram BS...

100K is the recommended time to replace them so the timing was right. The price? Not so much.

That’s a lot of money to just swap plugs and wires. If they put in AC Delco plugs and wires you are looking at $100-$150 in parts. That puts labor and margin at $800.

Takes about 2hrs for me to change them in my garage.

Holy crap Batman, that is a rip off amount of dinero for plugs and wires replacement. I would make them show me where their labor guide says anywhere close to $750 to $800 labor. Where is this freakin' dealer at?

This price of $950, does it include all diagnostics? Is the fuel injector cleaning and reprogramming also included in that $950 price?

Or, is it $950 for the plugs and wires install only? If so, that is a blatant rip off. Having been in the business over 35+ years, I hate to see any shop attempt to rip someone off this way.

Are there some details missing in this story?

We all know it's a dealer stealer rip off. Read the code, diagnose the code, plugs, wires, reset computer, flush injectors, blah blah blah.
That's what happens when 1 person business travels, and the wife needs the truck fixed asap.

So, now the $950 includes way more than just plugs and wires replacement. The initial post was a bit misleading. I get that you are away and mad that it all happens while you are gone and I am not saying it is still too much for the work involved but the price does look slightly better now that the full details come out. You initial post was slightly misleading because you made it sound like the $950 was just for the plugs and wires install and the rest of the list could be extra.

Plugs and wires installed at a Dealership run $ 600... I know. Thats AC Professional Wires and Iridium plugs. I got the rebate checks.

I had it done because my back was to sore to do the work myself.

Same dealer quoted me 850 to replace air compressor for shocks.

I was able to do that myself for $275. parts from Rock Auto.

No leaning over the fender for that just a creeper. And I should have used a face shield.

If the oil is way over filled, do you think it would blow past the rings, and foul the plugs ?

If it’s way over filled( far above the full line) the oil can turn into a frothy foam and lose some of its effectiveness. It needs to be corrected.

Yea, oil pumps do not like aerated oil. Engine components do not like oil pumps that do not like aerated oil.
