1950 Chevy 3100.

*****Disclaimer*****

Now before anyone has any comments about what will be done to this truck, it is to far gone for a full on restoration, that is why we selected this truck to do this too.

*****End Disclaimer*****

My wife has been bugging me to find her a rat rod project for a few years now, on the way back from TX a few weeks ago we spotted one and stopped and looked at it.

I chewed on it for the better part of a week, and finally decided to spring on it.

Plans are to chop the top, bob the bed down, some for of a LSX motor, 8.8 rear end, and mustang II front suspension. Not going to be anything crazy like you see some of these guys do, but I for damn sure have my work cut out for me.

We started dis assembly this last weekend, and I called it quits after cutting of bolts for a few hours with a die grinder.

Buy the truck wasnt bad, talked him down to 500, but the 91 in a 55 ticket I got on the way is gonna hurt.

And please if you have something negative to say about what we are planning on doing please keep it to yourself. Rat rods are not for everyone, I understand that.

Thats Awesome!
I always used to love turning wrenches, but I never was a fab guy. When I retire or win the lottery, I will but a new house with some land, a big building and learn how to actually Build a car.

Take some pics, the progress pics are always great for us poor bastards that dont have the time or space :)

I will try and keep the pics going as we get things done, I am not the best about taking pics while I work. I usually get to involved in what I am doing.

Got the sucker off the trailer finally, had to jack it up on the trailer and beat the rear drivers brake drum until it cracked so I could slip it off.

Unfortunately, this will have to take the back burner for a few weeks. We went to put a new top on the deck, and found out it was pretty much rotten, so a small project turned into a large one.
