Original wires for woofer upgrade

I posted this question in my build thread, but wanted to link it here as well...

Im wondering if anyone know whether it’s okay to use the original wiring to upgrade the rear panel 8” sub woofer in a 2001 Yukon, if the new woofer will be dual voice coil (2 ohm each) wired in series to run as 4 ohm.

Or do I need thicker wires for this??

(1) Are you using the original power amp, and simply replacing the 8" subwoofer speaker itself?

(2) Is the impedance of your stock 8" subwoofer 4 ohms?

If the answers to (1) and (2) are yes, then you should not have to replace your subwoofer speaker wires.
