I don't use the on star in my '02. Want to delete it and put a flat piece in it's place so I can then put my garmin suction mount. Anyone know where I can buy a flat piece somewhere? Only option I can find in the small cubby hole.

(and the picture is not of my T, got it off google.)

I believe there is a flat piece that can be bought and also a compartment that replaces it as well. I have been meaning to buy the compartment but haven't done so yet. The part number for the compartment is 15207926 and it can be bought from places like www.gmpartsdirect.com

Still looking for some advice on this.

Attached is a picture from gmparts.com

Do you all think part 8 is what I should get? If so, I'm screwed because when you order that piece you have to order a 5 pack of them; thus $30 out the door.

So I finally finished this. It's nothing compared to some of the custom jobs I've seen on this site; but for those of you with that worthless on star button on the right side of the dash; this can get rid of it. I got the part for $12 via gmpartsgiant and used two of the empty plugs already in the dash. Inserted in 10 seconds then put the garmin suction cup mount on it. Sorry for the crappy pics, stupid phone camera. Anyone wanting to do something similar, email me and I will send you the part numbers.
