Oil pressure stepper motor?

Took my truck for its first road trip last night and all was well.....except when I got close to there I had noticed the oil pressure gauge was fluctuating between 65-75psi. On the way home it was between 70-85psi but I was also going a couple mph faster. When I turned the key off it only dropped to40psi as though that were zero. Because of this I am assuming its not the oil pressure sensor?

I would keep an eye on the gauge. If the gauge ever goes past 85 and points like in the 5:00 position, then I would say its the stepper motor. If it stays withing the normal gauge sweep but keeps reading higher than it should, then it might be the sensor.
