There are plenty of similar pictures, from every type / manufacturer of DI engine out there if you search for them.

If you want GM specific, here's an article from LSXmag.com (even has a picture of the walnut shell port blaster used to clean in the carbon out)

The catch cans just prolong the time it takes for the carbon to accumulate because they removed most of the oil mist from the CVV air.
