Noisy drivers window. I was told GM failed to grease the tracks and thats why my drivers window is so noisy when I put it up and down. I am going to pull the door panel off and lube up the moving parts this weekend. What should I use?

I use lithium grease. It's thicker and will wear a lot longer than your typical spray lube like wd-40.

Please Update...

Thought I was the only one with this problem. The dealer told me it was the fault of my tint! I've had numerous cars tinted and never had this problem, let alone on a $60k truck.

Please update on this. I wanna know if it works. :waytogo:

Okay. I took the panel off and just put some grease on the plastic guides and no more noise. I can kick myself for not doing this sooner. GM did a nice job on the panel attchment as I was able to reuse all the clips.

What noises were you getting?
Just want to know as I may try this soon on all my windows while I have the panels removed for speaker swaps.

Sounded like a squeel mixed with a groan every time I put the window down or up. Only the drivers window did it. I bought this thing off my dad and he said it did it from day one but he never took it to the dealer to get it looked at.

When I bought mine, it made the same sound on my passenger side. It has gone away on its own though. I'll remember to grease it up, if it comes back though.
