Hello all. I have a 2016 Tahoe 5.3 LT 2WD with 105k. Been fine so far, except for the thermostat kerfuffle which was easy to handle. This week it stopped moving (intermittently at first, to the point that I thought I was nuts because it quickly corrected) in 1st or reverse. The third time and after that required I go to M2 I can get motion and use D with normal results until the next full stop. I am not driving it this way, only done so in ‘WTF figure this out mode’ after it happened twice and to get it to a shop.
Shop says no error codes, but that it needs a valve body for $2200. Does this sound right, in both assessment and cost?
I can rebuild a Lycoming 320, 312 Y block and teapot carb, or replace the clutch and throw out bearing on an Rx7, but automatic transmissions are voodoo to me. It’s actually almost embarrassing.
Any feedback is appreciated.
