Just diving into this issue. 2024 GMC Yukon less than 1 year old, everything was working find then all the sudden not sound for Sirius XM, AM or FM however sound works for streaming Android Auto, GPS, Google, OnStar and Bluetooth cell calls.
Guessing it may either be a Serial Data Gateway corruption problem, Sirius XM antenna or the radio module itself. I do not recall seeing any updates, but there may have been something in the background.
Tried the soft reset by holding down the End Call button on the steering wheel a few times, no luck. I have noticed that I have had a bunch of strange hang ups and delays either with Google Maps or Waze is SLOW AS MOLASSES to boot and load. But when I performed my most recent End Call reset, I noticed I had a few text message alerts pop on the radio display. One or maybe a few were not recent, they were from some time ago, so it appears these Infotainment systems have memory management problems. Memory buffer not getting purged. Will see if I get a hard reset if this fixed my radio problem and/or SLOW WAZE.
I have also had problems where randomly on a Bluetooth phone call, I think the call drops, but it looks like the call drops off Bluetooth, back to my phone for 20-30 seconds then reacquires to Bluetooth. Most recent instance was yesterday a day or so after the radio problem showed up.
Contacted OnStar to perform a radio reset, but not sure they really could do it because all my favorites were still showing. Most hard resets dump presets.
Should be an option for Safe Mode or Hard Reset in the Infotainment menus, need to look and try. I also have a few advanced scan tools that should be capable of radio reset as well.
Will update if I have any success, also aware of the N242435631-01 Serial Data Gateway and Radio Customer Satisfaction Program, not sure this is my issue, but will see what happens with Safe Mode and/or Hard Reset if I can find and execute these options.
As the world burns, GM are you listening!
