Got the Furd home today. Title for title and it's sitting in my driveway. The other guy was salivating over a truck I was ready to take a hammering on just to get rid of it. He even handled the transport.

It looks better in the picture than in person but it does have an aura about it. I knew up front it had transmission issues. Still, it moves under it's own power. Faded paint but not rust. It was originally owned by a family that raised horses and was used to pull a 7 horse trailer. Eventually the couple got a divorce a mama got the truck. I found some clues as to why in the truck when I first went over it.

That will be an enjoyable truck to tinker with. 6.9 IDI or 460? I have had a couple old F350's, the last was a 94 Turbo 7.3 IDI 4wd with a 5 speed, I refurbished that one and sent it down the road and I still have a 90 7.3 IDI 4wd that I haven't touched in a long time.

What are the plans for this one?

It's a 460. They even came with the 300 6 back then but this was bought as a conversion. I definitely did NOT want a diesel. It doesn't have any rust I can find. It's not very nimble though. I drove semi's that had a better turning radius.

What is the area behind the cab?

At first I thought it was a super mega whatever cab but I see it’s part of the bed not the cab. But then the headache rack blocks access to it?

At first I thought it was a super mega whatever cab but I see it’s part of the bed not the cab. But then the headache rack blocks access to it?

It's a sort of a mini camper shell. It's painted to match the truck. There is a sliding rear window on the cab and another one on the shell. I think it is meant to be a sleeping area but the sliding rear window is too small to climb through. More than likely it was just an extra storage area. Here's some more photos.

I wondered if it was a mini, pick-up sized coffin sleeper.
