I like the NBS body style but again that is a personal preference. I believe and someone correct me if I'm wrong that the 08's have a 6 speed auto vs the 4 speed auto in the 07's, but this may only have been in the denali's! I believe 09's had the 6.2L as an option as well!

I'm a NBS guys too, I considered picking up a NNBS Avalanche but up close I wasn't happy with it. It wasn't a money issue. The reason I like the NBS are due to things like Metal bumpers, Less plastic, and to me still has that Truck/SUV vibe....the SUV's now look like huge cars....if that makes sense.

I got you, I've been thinking about it a lot today and i think the '06 is the best option for me. I have heard of very few, if any, "major" issues so i'm not going with an extended warranty so the cost of the warranty isn't an issue anymore.

I think the '06 will be in the ballpark of 10g's less, which will leave me with quite a bit more mod money. If i get the LT 2, will it for sure have the middle row captains chairs or does it just depend on if i find one with 3rd row or not?

Any preference from the community or is it all personal Pref?

I actually work in Norcross, just south of Johns Creek.

Why did you sell yours?

I was looking at your Sig, HID's is one of the things i was pricing, might have some questions when the time comes if you dont mind.

Ive had smaller sports cars in the past. Once I took my Yukon for a test drive I swore I would never buy a small car again

I hate second row captains chairs...had them in my '06 denali but now I'm back in my '01 with the rear bench and its much better for throwing shit in the back...since I never really have more than one other person with me anyway. They seem easier to fold as well.

as for extended warranty...I just bought my girlfriend an '08 Mazda 3 for christmas and I bought a 3 year extended warranty (shes really ******* cars)...ran me 1200.

3rd row may or may not have captains... captains always has 3rd row.

I've an LT with 3rd row and 2nd row bench. for me a critical option was the 5.3 and tow package because a cooler trans = longer lasting.

So i have received a lot of "encouragement" from quite a few people to take a second look at Sequoia's, i've found quite a few that are very attractive. I wanted to come back over here to get your opinions before I make a move.

Gas mileage seems to be better, durability seems to swing heavily in favor of the sequoia, seems to hold value better. That being said, I think the Tahoe is a much sharper looking truck.

I think you'd be way over-paying up front for a possible mpg increase that may or may not manifest itself. They are rated at 13/17, same as a 5.3L Tahoe.
Sequoias are just as heavy, have just as large an engine (if you look only at 4.8 tahoes) and are just as un-aerodynamic... thus any mpg increase would be minimal.

Toyota quality only has meaning for resale value. Then you get price gouged for some intangible concept of eternal durability that really hasn't panned out in the last decade. In the real world, for maintenance, it has been my experience that you wind up spending the same or more because parts are more expensive and/or harder to procure new, after market, and used.

When Iwas shopping in august, the sequoia was grossly overpriced. I didn't see a single 03 for under 16k, much less under 12. There was no plethora of moderate mileage 02s for 8k or less, unlike the T/Y/S platform.

If you are looking at a sequoia you might as well buy an X5. The X5 actually has the better fit and finish, and proven driveline, and is no less incapable of towing or offroading. ;)

MPG is important, but it's not the selling point. Another of the reasons i was looking at it again, is because of body style. I'm looking at an '06 or an '07, I am not a huge fan of the NNBS so i'm basically limited to the '06. The sequoia made a body style change in '08 but i dont think it was a very drastic change.

And i'm selling my BMW 330i because of BMW Repair costs, it would defeat the purpose to pick up an X5, but they are great looking vehicles...

I've actually found sequoia's in a reasonable price range, like this:

1:
330i = cheap *************. Do not base your evaluation of BMW on that dog pile.
All 3 series are cheaply built pieces of shit... and have been since at least the `92 e36. I'd honestly take a 15 year old 5 series over a 3 year old 3 series for reliability, utility, and quality, plus the cost-benefit ratio is awesome. Especially if you can wrench.

2: I think we have vastly different concepts of what reasonable is.

3: you obviously want the Sequoia, so get it. While they don't meet my needs or price standards for what they have, but you seem convinced that is what you should do.

Isn;t my job to 'convince' you or 'sell' you on a TYS. I can fix/replace anything on them in a day at home in the driveway, with parts from the junkyard or parts store.
