New to the forum from socal

Hello everyone! Been an avid tahoe/suburban/Yukon forum reader for 10+ years and finally decided to join. Happy owner of an 02 Suburban (259k atm) since '11 and a 01' Suburban 2500 (250k atm) with the 496 since '16. I've done an extensive amount of mods throughout the years thanks to forums like this one and YouTube. I'm also in the SS forum under the same name. I also own a 2014 Chevrolet SS (98k RIP) which I blew up the LS3 in and am in the middle of a 427 NA build. Hope to remain active here and meet new people with same passion for these trucks as me.

Right? Thanks for the kind words. The 1/2 ton got a proper paint job 1 1/2 year ago after the clear coat flaked out. The 3/4 ton I bought from original owner who babied it. I plan on driving these to til the wheels fall off. They are similar in looks but driving they are completely different animals.

Welcome from WI.......the state north of Chitcago and all the yucky road grime that comes with it. I'm not a fan of Cali per say but I do envy your weather and being able to actually get the full mechanical life out of a vehicle before its just a crusty shell of its former self. Nice vehicles in the stable! I really like the SS. It's on my list of mid-life crisis items to purchase. LOL

I totally hear what you're saying. The weather here is lovely. Just getting too crowded for my liking. The SS purchase was uncalled for on my part. Was looking for a commuter car for the wife and ended up buying the SS for me. She was not happy. I got her a Cruze LTZ RS the following weekend. Sometimes you gotta just go for it. Sometimes planning never becomes more than that. A plan with no action.

Just to give everybody an update, I am getting ready to give my 5.3L LM7 a healthy cam. To date, it is in stock condition minus the long tube headers. Meaning stock intake manifold, cam, oil pump, heads, etc. So I have a fresh set of heads, better springs, cam, lifters pushrods, oil pump, new gaskets all around getting ready to clean her up a bit. Has 259,000 original miles and I've been changing her oil since 95k mi. Synthetic all her life. I hope to see the bottom end and pistons in not such a bad shape but we will see...
