hey folks. similar story to many i am sure, wife and i both grew up in big GM full size truck families, and we're back as we start our own family.

after some research decided i would only go tahoe if i could find a K2XX RST PP in good shape with low miles. had feelers out on a few other makes and models (mostly german) and on a random whim checked out a low mile lease buyout trade in tahoe with no pictures listed at my local GM dealer in person and.... lo and behold, it was a 38k mile RST PP in tungsten. dont think the dealer really knew what they had so i left a deposit that day and picked it up ASAP. cosmetically will need some TLC but nothing show stopping. it joins our fleet as my winter daily and road trip car - very much enjoying it so far. i am totally new to the platform so new owner advice welcome. ive had the oil changed and wheels rebalanced and alignment done already. paint correction and ceramic is in its future soon.

Very nice!!! I'd start with a catchcan, flip the pill (or swap in a different thermostat) on the 6L80E, and upgrade the front brakes with 2019+ 4 piston front brakes. That last one isn't needed, but you'll be thankful you did. Clean truck and welcome to the forum!

Question for @Walkerfever - i was under the impression that ive got the 10L80 being an RST PP - let me know if i am off base here.

That's a good point, most of the RST did get them. Shift it down into manual and make sure it goers up to 10 gears (sitting in place, lol)

I believe in 2018, you get the 6L80 if you have a 5.3 V8, and the 6.2 V8 got the 10L80
I think some of them got the 8 speeds( with the 6.2l), since it was a transition year. Everything after 18 would have it without a doubt.

Looks great! Though as a dad I think you’ll be in the market for a long body before too long. We fill ours up just going to grandma’s house.

Tungsten for the win!
we'll see! the tahoe is the largest vehicle ive owned by a wide margin. hopefully by the time i need a bigger one GM has the L87 issues well and truly ironed out because their build quality and reliability reputation is scary these days

first sloppy day for the tahoe under my ownership... i think my other car was thrilled not to have winter tires and a roof rack this year :D tahoe did great, i have a gravel driveway so i dont plow and in 4 hi it wasnt even a question at 5-6 inches of snow.

noticed my engine hours at 1505 which now comes out to ~4 hours a week and ~25 mph on average over the life of the car.

side note, if anyone has a shop recommendation in the southern new england region for an AFM delete, please let me know. i plan on that plus handling the minor surface rust on the undercarriage soon.

So what does the PP represent? Did you discover which engine you have?
