Well let's see..The best CAI is about 2 HP according to the Dyno results done here on the forum, new cats are 0 HP, Corsa Sport is maybe 5 HP without longtube headers, so the only real gain from your mods is the tune which BB says is probably 20-25 HP. After that you're looking at a cam and headers which might get you another 40-50 including a re-tune which is why I suggested an Autocal. Every time you make changes you need a new tune. After that it's either heads or a blower or something similarly expensive. My most expensive HP was $6.5 k for a blower. But it was also the most fun. I've also done longtubes, cam, roller rockers, dual valve springs, and a whole lot of money for a trans that will hold up to the HP. Plus other stuff lol. It's addictive. Get with it!

Amirite in assuming I don't need an exhaust to get 25 hp out of the tune? mainly sound then?

I enjoy the stock tone, and if im only going to get 5 hp from a $1000 bolt on mainly for sound, i might just skip it for when i have that money lying around.. that G would pay for the new cats, tune, expenses to drive to and from tune, and some steering parts for next springs project!!

No you don't need exhaust for anything except sound. Actually your Denali has a great exhaust, duals all the way back to the muffler. You can change your muffler for better sound. I'd save that money like you said. Catbacks on Denalis are a waste of cash IMO.

Like rocket said your exhaust is fine the way it is, if want a different ‘sound’ however, get yourself a diff muffler and you’re gtg

Good looking Denali! I don't know if i am in the minority here but I really miss the integrated armrest in the seats. I hate that they got rid of that.

Yeah @Rocket Man is correct. I did this exact mod a couple weeks ago. Went with a magnaflow muffler and totally opened up the exhaust for a nice tone. Check out the last couple pages of my build thread for sound clips. I wanted something just a little more than the stock tone and constant, but not super loud. Magnaflow gave me just that. And then I chopped off the stock chrome piece and welded on an MBRP tip that’s roughly the same size. Totally fixes my truck a different look, nice to refresh the exhaust a little without spending a ton on a whole new setup.
Edit: I agree I love the armrests in my NBS seats! Lol

I already bought a new maf sensor when I originally bought it, I was just wondering if the cost of 2 and a half sensors is worth 1.

thanks for helping!

im not racing it so i was thinking if it would help when I stamped on it for passes or something.

Hopefully it's screened, otherwise it messes with your numbers. When you go forced induction, most people switch to speed density, not maf, because you loose resolution over 12000 Hz, which is the max limit in a gen 3, unless it's scaled. The gen 3 pcm is limited to 512 grams/second.

it's an oe ac Delco sensor and there is a mesh screen on the sensor...

and the main reason for changing the cats is because they are stock, had them temp checked and a muffler shop said I should be replacing them soon according to the laser temp gauge they used..

I bought this with 175 k, and I've put on almost 16k in 9 months, now im at 191k on stock cats.. I've changed everything else on this truck why the f not, right?!?!?! hahhahah

I found this ad, same color as mine!!! now I can get the door handle assembly that matchs... what else should I grab while in there?

what's a good price for the whole thing?

maybe rip exhaust and cats off? wheels look good too, maybe even take out the rear entertainment if it has it...

was hoping the grill was there so I could replace the broken one on mine...

eta-- so I got in touch with him, and asked him what a fair price for the whole vehicle would be.. he said $450... so now he is sending me more pics, should I jump on this??? help!!!!!! hahaha

Yes that looks like a 2002 model. The rear entertainment will not work for yours. But door handles are the same. Just about all exterior body stuff will be the same.

It's actually titled as an 01. Count the 8the digit from the right, it's a 1, meaning it's an 01.

well I offered him $200 for the DENALI, and he said no... i asked how much for a door handle assembly, right headlight, driver window switch assembly, and the windshield... he said 125... maybe if I lived in st Louis but not plus 7 hours of total driving...

anyway, en lieu of rocket man telling me straight on the denali exhaust, im going to spend the thousand dollars I was gonna spend on a corsa, and use it for speed engineering headers and gm gaskets($300-400), install cost ($120 , 3 hours roughly), electric radiator fans(160ish), e harness(40?), and smaller alternator pulley(30?) for light dimming at low idle... that leaves mostly enough for booking a tune, or I might save up for an autocal... that will give me substantial power gains...

during all this spending madness I will most definetly be putting goodridge g stop SS brake lines on the new brakes I already installed when I bought it..

maybe when I get my tax return back I will get my exhuast... i don't want to pay $950 for 5 hp, and I don't want any drone at all, so that leaves out most exhausts, so we'll see when I get there.. I might just weld a new tip on like Beardeddenali...

I doubt you'll get the SE headers to work on a Denali. They cone with a y-pipe instead of running 2 separate pipes to the muffler, the y doesn't even usually work with a 4wd Tahoe. Just look at @Tonyrodz 's build thread. He had to remove the front driveshaft in his Tahoe due to the Y. You can't remove a driveshaft in a Denali or the transfer case will self destruct. If you want longtubes on a Denali you'll have to pony up for American Racing or Kooks unless you want to do a bunch of fab work. My AR's were $1400.
