Replacing my tranny in my 2019 Tahoe and was going to replace my rear main seal. I saw a bunch of videos about replacing them but now I realize it's a new style for the Gen V engines. I can't find ANY videos or reports of this new seal being replaced. There is no leak in my rear main and I'm thinking that maybe this new style (since 2015) is not causing leaking problems. Anyone care to comment about whether I should even mess with mine. Kind of thinking if it ain't broke don't fix it but don't want to have to pull tranny again. BTW, I have 122,000 miles.

I do applaud the forward thinking, but I see 2 scenarios:

1. Yours is nice and in good condition and will last a long while more.
2. Proactive replacement could be excellent, or crummy if the tech does it wrong.

But, if it's done by a GM dealership, it will have a 2 year unlimited miles warranty on replaced parts as far as I know
