    2007 new to me Tahoe
Kind of high mileage, has a few issues in the Liftgate area I'm trying to get resolved.

Trying to find a common denominator between these issues if anyone has any ideas:

-Power liftgate WILL open but WILL NOT close on its own (neither using button on liftgate, fob, or interior headliner switch)
-Rear lift glass actuator will not open glass (does not work on fob or button on rear applique)
-Back up camera not working (screen reporting check surroundings warning)

As this is a new to me Tahoe I am not really sure if this might all be related (ie wiring chaffing at liftgate hinge) or if its just coincidental that all this stuff isn't working because the modules, etc, are bad.

Any ideas or troubleshooting I could try?

I came looking for help your issues seem similar to mine. I have a 2007 yukon. The liftgate is not automatic but it started working and not working intermittently. Now the liftgate won't open, the back window won't open. The rear wiper is also not working despite having recently changed the whole assembly after my child decided to use the wiper as a handle and broke the whole thing right off. Also the bulbs that are supposed to light the rear plates don't work. Nothing on the gate seems to work. Hoping whomever helps you helps me too. Sorry to hijack your post. Hope we both get help.

Have you checked the harness going into the hatch? Sounds like possibly a power/ground issue.

Tony’s right. Open the hatch and you’ll see the loom coming from the body to the gate. Mine is top left. Open the loom and you’ll likely see frayed or broken wires. It’s usually just 1 but check all. Repair and you’re done.

My husband noticed that the lights being on or off is what determines weather or not the liftgate will open. When the lights are on the liftgate will not open but as soon as the lights are turned off the liftgate opens. Definitely an electrical/wire issue. Thank you.

Check not only the wiring between the lift gate and roof but also the ground straps for your battery. They corrode and cause all kinds of problems
