Just a preface... this will be a very slow build. My estimate is 1-2 years. I will be building this with my little girl as a daddy/daughter project, so bare with me. Without further...

I gave in... couldn't resist the looks of a RCSB with the SS Cladding slammed on 22s, and I surely miss my crew cab... so, decided to jump into a new project and see where it takes me.

Plans are still tenative, but it will be pretty basic as far as body mods.

OUTSIDE: Starting out with a 2000 Silverado frame and cab. 03+ Core support, 03+ fenders, 03+ headlights and parking lights, 06 Grill, 06 Hood, and all the OEM SS Cladding, brackets, and even OEM fasteners. Tailgate will be shaved and have the SS Intimidator Spoiler, tails will be smoked. Color I am looking at is Cyber Gray with matte black ducts and all the grill inserts (This has now changed to Black with Competition Gray Ducts).

INSIDE: Interior is still 99-02, but has bucket seating with the 99-02 console. Charcoal in color, but it won't last, going to paint the entire interior. Buckets will be black Katzkin leather and black carpet, double stitched red thread.

SUSPENSION: McGaughys 5/7 to start, will go lower as needed. I'd ultimately like the tire to tuck just into the fender.

ENGINE: Still up in the air. 4L80e and N/A LQ4/LQ9 tweaked and eventually will go F/I . Rear end already has an Eaton Locker and 4.10s, but it's only a 10-bolt till she breaks. Still debating on exhaust, but I want this thing to be very very quiet until the cutouts open. :)

WHEELS: Going with TBSS 22" Replicas, competition grey. Hopefully will be able to stuff a BBK behind the wheels.

I'll post more as I start the build.

I was supposed to scoop up the project recently, but she isn't ready to roll just yet, so as soon as schedules coincide, I'll post pics and start this thread rollin...

Thanks in advance to those who have been helping me acquire the parts so far, you know who you are. :shake:

And Thanks to WHATABURGER (from GMFS.com) for the Rendering :shake:

*initial rendering was for gray with black wheels, but I swapped it back to black with gray wheels since then

Based off the rendering with your changes it will be sick.

I thought about going down the same path with a rscb. But doing some billet wide wheels outback.

Nice, i am looking forward to this Build. Love the way those trucks look tricked out. Reminds me of the RST L.E trucks GM used to make. :driver:

with the bad, comes the good....

The BAD...My 00' truck had some issues with reassembly, and was scrapped. I am now looking at buying an 03-07 short bed truck locally and starting with a complete truck (whereas the 00' was just the frame and cab).

The GOOD... I was able to secure my old wheels from my crew cab!! I am buying them back from the fella who bought them from me, but stripping them down and doing something "special." I could always change my mind and go back to the TBSS wheels, but we'll see how my old wheels come back to life here shortly... :secret:

The other BAD... this pushes my initial start on the project back a bit. :(

Well that sucks man! With that said, however, starting with a complete truck may make the task a bit easier and less costly in the long run.

very true, but surely not as fun. I enjoy the long builds...

Thanks brother, I appreciate that. If you liked the old crew cab, this one will be similar, but much more sleeker and lower.

Re-assembly is a long story. The truck was completely off the frame being put back together, and there were too many small pieces missing to fit the cab to the frame that it jsut wasnt feasible to make it happen, just easier with starting on a new truck and not trying to piece together an old one.

So, im in the market for an 03-07 classic RCSB, rebuilt title ok, wrecked, i don't care. It'll all be the shizz once we're done! :)

Soooooooooo... bumping up an old thread. :secret:

Going to look at a new platform for the project. A 2007 RCSB Silvy. If I score it this weekend (Sunday), it will be the FASTEST built SS-Clone on the planet, lol.

I literally have ALL the SS Cladding, Brand new, OEM, sitting in storage. Have the 5/7 drop kit, and even the 3pc Intros. This truck will go from stock glory to slammed on 22s and cladded in about 2 weeks.... Mwahahhahahhaha! I'm giddy!

black...

going to concentrate on building my old crewcab cloned. I bought my old Intro's back from the guy I sold them too. They were in horrible shape tho. Chrome was pealing, pitted, bubbling, you name it. The centers were shot as well. Got them at an UNREAL DEAL (Timmy knows). So, I am having them blasted and powdercoated. Probably gloss black inners/outers and matte black centers... maybe gray or red lipstick. Decisions. I literally have everything ready to bolt on.
