X posting this for the non op NNBS lift gates that aren’t cured with the usual strut, actuator drive motor replacement.
The one thing that is not addressed is the lift gate (pinch) sensor. It reverses the motor if the amp rating of the motor rises or “senses” an obstruction.
Here’s the diagnosis for an SRX.

When peeps have been taking their vehicles to the dealer they’ve likely been charged for almost every component in the auto lift gate mechanism because it checked out as marginal.
The dealer has no problem replacing struts, sensors, motor and actuator if they can justify “they’re fixing it the right way so they don’t get a callback” or poor CSR score with the customer coming back in a week or month due to another failed part.
Seems like a good place to land this TSB for 07-09 vehicles for “sharp metal” affecting the harness of the lift gate
