So I installed the HID kit from DDM the other day. Other than the plugs being wired backwards, it was a straight forward install. Fast-forward to tonight, I flashed the brights at an idiot pulling out in front of me and noticed that the HIDs did not go out. When I got home, I checked again against my garage door. There it was, 4hi. I didn't even do the diode thing, just hooked up some HIDs.

When you say flashed, did you pull the lever to the temporary position and release or flip it forward to the locked high position. If you pulled, that brights and lows stay on together but you can't leave it engaged, soon as you release the lever it return to lows only.

Push it to the high locked on position, I'm certain you will net high's alone.

I think I'm going to do the 4 high mod with the diode. Is there a certain diode I need to buy or will any work?

travis did it with speaker wire and it worked.. lol.. so im not sure diode size is super important.. unless kicker speaker wire has a magical resistance factor.

I dont have highs lows or lowers.. just fogs.. so my personal experience cant be held to question here..

You can use wire but it will go both ways not just one way. So if you low beams are on your high beams will always be on.
